This map shows where the IITS is located within the city of Cologne.
The IITS can be reached by metro, car or train. Following directions are meant to be a guideline. Due to possible changes in we do not accept any liabilty for the correctness.
By metro
The Indology and Tamil studies of the institute for Southasian- and Southeastasian studies (SASOA) can be reached with the following trams. From: Neumarkt take line No. 1 in direction to Weiden West or line No. 7 towards Frechen and get off at Universitätsstraße. From this destination, follow the Universitätsstraße towards Dürener Str. Cross the Dürener Str. and take the next road on the right called Liliencronstr. The building has 3 floors and is located on the right side oft he road. You can find the Indology and Tamil studies on the third floor while Southeast Asia studies are located on the second floor.
By train
Take a train to Cologne Central Station. From there take line No. 16 or No. 18 in direction to Bonn-Bad Godesberg or likewise Bonn Main Station and get off at Neumarkt. From there take line No. 1 in direction to Weiden West or line No. 7 towards Frechen and get off at Universitätsstraße. From this destionation, follow the Universitätsstraße towards Dürener Str. Cross the Dürener Str. and take the next road on the right called Liliencronstr. The building has 3 floors and is located on the right side oft he road. By car (coming from north to Cologne via the A1)
In the motorway junction at Köln-Nord change from the A1 to the A57 in direction to Köln-Zentrum. Follow the A57 until you reach an underpass. Turn right at the exit named Köln-Süd/ Lindenthal. Turn to the interior channel road (Innere Kanalstr.) and follow it. The interior channel street becomes the Universitätsstraße. Cross the Dürener Str. And take the next road on the right called Liliencronstr.
